Thomas Ashe 1885-1917 Born in Lispole, Kerry. He fought at Ashbourne during the Easter Rising. A death sentence was later commuted to penal servitude for life but he was released the following year. He was then arrested for making a seditious speech and died while on hunger strike in Mountjoy Jail. He is buried in Dublin.
