Gerard Dillon 1916-1971 Born in Belfast. He was a prolific artist who worked in many different media. He exhibited widely at home and abroad. His work is in most modern Irish collections. The Irish Times at the time of his death used his quote: "When I do go I would like to be buried home in Belfast and not in London. I don’t think I could stand one of those London graveyards where the grass verges are kept nicely clipped by professional gardeners. I’d rather be in some untidy graveyard in Belfast". His wish was granted. |
