John Blake Dillon
1816-1866
With
Thomas Davis and Gavan Duffy, he founded the Nation
newspaper. He took part in the 1848 rising, escaped to France, and afterwards
went to America. He returned after an amnesty in 1855 and was elected M.P. for
Tipperary in 1865 but died a year later. He is buried in Dublin.
