Maire Drumm 1919-1976Born near Newry, she was an active republican all her life. She was chairman of the Ulster Council of the Camogie Association of Ireland and was vice president of Sinn Fein. She was a fiery speaker and was jailed twice. Her husband and son were interned. She was shot dead in the Mater Hospital in Belfast by loyalist gunmen. She is buried in Belfast |
