Michael Doheny 1805-1863 Born near Fethard, County Tipperary. He was one of the founders of the Fenian Brotherhood in America. He wrote The Felon’s Track, the poem A Cushla Gal Mo Chree and the song The Shan Van Vocht. He was buried in New York. His grave was unmarked until 7th October 1989 when New York Tipperary-men’s N & B Association erected a monument to him. The photo shows the unveiling of the gravestone. Photo By Joe Grogan
