Denis Devlin 1908-1959 Born in Greenock, Scotland. His family returned to Ireland in 1918. After attending UCD he became a diplomat and served in many countries. He was appointed Ambassador to Italy in 1958. He wrote poetry throughout his life and his works include Intercessions, Lough Derg, The Heavenly Foreigner and Memoirs of aTurcoman Diplomat. He is buried in Dublin.
