George Francis Fitzgerald 1851-1901 Born in Dublin. He is best known for the Lorentz-Fitzgerald Contraction which Einstein used to develop his own theory of relativity. He also worked on the theory of producing radio waves. The photograph shows the Commemoration ceremony 2001. He is buried in Dublin.
