Edmund Dwyer Gray 1845-1888Born in Dublin. He
was the son of Sir John Gray, on whose death he became sole proprietor of The
Freemans Journal. He was an M.P. at various times for Tipperary, Carlow and
Dublin. He was also Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1880. He was sentenced to jail for
three months for comments in his paper on a murder trial. He is buried in
Dublin. The grave has low railings all round. There is stone scroll
