Sir Tyrone Guthrie 1900-1971
Born in Tunbridge
Wells, Kent, England. He produced plays in many European countries and in
America. He was Chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast 1963-1970 and
was knighted for his theatrical work. He left his house, Annaghmakerrig,
to be used for the Arts. His works include Theatre Prospect, Top of the
Ladder, In Various Directions and A Life in the Theatre.
He is buried in County
