Anna Maria Hall 1800-1881
Anna Maria Hall was born in Dublin. She was a prolific writer who produced over 500 pieces of work including poems, plays, children’s books, novels and sketches. She was more popular in England than in Ireland. Her works include The Groves of Blarney, The Whiteboy, Lights and Shadows of Irish Life and Ireland, Its Scenery, Characters, etc which she wrote with her husband, Samuel Carter Hall. She is buried in Addlestone, Surrey.
