Samuel Carter Hall 1800-1889
Samuel Carter Hall was born near Waterford. He was a publisher and published Anna Maria Hall’s early work. He was later involved in newspapers and was editor of the Art Union Monthly Journal. He wrote Lines Written at Jerpoint Abbey as well as collaborating with his wife on Ireland, Its Scenery, Characters, etc. and on other books. He is buried in Addlestone, Surrey.
