Michael Hogan 1832-1899 Born in Limerick. He was known as the Bard of Thomond. His works include Light of Munster, Anthems to Mary and the Shawn-a-Scoob series. His early poems were collected under the title of Lays and Legends of Thomond which went into several editions. He is best known for the ballad Drunken Thady. He is buried in Limerick.
