John Larchet 1884-1967 Born in Dublin. He was Professor of Harmony, Counterpoint and Composition at the Royal Irish Academy of Music 1920-1955; Director of Music at the Abbey 1907-1934; Professor Emeritus at University College Dublin 1921-1958. His compositions include First Set of 12 Irish Airs; Padraic the Fiddler; Bluebeard; The Legend of Loughrea. He is buried in Dublin.
