Catherine McAuley 1778-1841 Born in Dublin She was the Foundress of the Order of Mercy in Dublin. Her Order spread throughout the world. In 1990 she became the Venerable Catherine McAuley. Her portrait was on the old five punt banknote. She is buried in Dublin.
