Donnchadh Ruadh Mac Conmara 1715-1810 Not a great deal is known about him but it is thought he came originally from County Clare. His best known work is a poem, Eachtra Ghíolla an Amaráin, about the life of an emigrant in Newfoundland. It involved the hardships of fishing, curing the fish and then having a good time afterwards. He also wrote the elegy for Tadhg Gaelach Ó Súilleabháin. He is buried in County Waterford.
