Father Eugene O’Growney 1863-1899
Born in Ballyfallon, County Meath. He was Professor of Irish in Maynooth in 1891 and Vice President of the newly formed Gaelic League in 1893. He wrote Simple Lessons in Irish which was extremely popular and sold well. He originally was buried in Los Angeles but his remains were re-interred in County Kildare.
