Séamus Ó Néill 1910-1981
Born in Clarkhill, near Castlewellan, County Down. He was Professor of History at Carysfort College of Education for over 40 years. He wrote poetry, short stories, plays and novels. His novel Tonn Tuile, about marital break-up, was a bestseller. Other works include An Sean-Saighdiúir agus Scéalta Eile, Iníon Rí Dhún Sobhairce and Faill ar an Bhfeart. He is buried in Dublin.
