Stewart Parker 1941-1988 Born in Belfast. After graduation he taught in America and returned to Belfast in 1969 to write. His first major success was Spokesong which was produced at the 1975 Dublin Theatre Festival before going on to London. In 1978 he went to live in Edinburgh and later he settled down in London. He won many awards for his work which includes Catchpenny Twist, Northern Star, Heavenly Bodies, Pentecost, The Kamikaze Ground Staff Reunion Dinner and I’m a Dreamer, Montreal. He died in London and his remains were brought back to Belfast where they were cremated at Roselawn Crematorium, Belfast.
