Davy Stephens was a newspaper vendor in Dun Laoghaire. He was a well-known figure as he had a stand near the ferry station and he was the first person many saw when they landed in Ireland. He is mentioned in Ulysses and there is a photograph of him by Robert French. He is buried in Deansgrange Cemetery, Dublin.
