Canon Patrick
Augustine Sheehan 1852-1913

Born in Mallow,
County Cork. He became parish priest of Doneraile in 1894 and remained
there until his death. He used his novels as a means to promote and
preserve Catholicism and to encourage his parishioners at a time of great
social change. His best known works include Glenanaar, The Graves of
Kilmorna, Luke Delmege, My New Curate and Lisheen.
He is buried in Doneraile.
