Annie M.P. (Mary
Patricia) Smithson 1873-1948

Born
in Sandymount, Dublin. She was a nurse for many years and secretary of the
Irish Nurses Organisation from 1929-1942. An immensely popular romantic
writer in her day, her works include Her Irish Heritage, By Shadowed Ways,
The Walk of a Queen, For God and Ireland and Wicklow Heather. She also
wrote an autobiography – Myself and Others. She is buried in County Dublin.
