Katharine Tynan
1868-1931

Born in Dublin. She
was one of the most prolific of Irish writers. Her works include over 100
novels, short story collections, plays, poetry collections, memoirs,
essays, and volumes of autobiography and reminiscences. She was a leading
poet of the Irish literary revival and was a good friend of W.B. Yeats.
She had a reputation as a journalist and promoted women’s rights and
other social issues. Her works include Louise de la Valliere and Other
Poems, Ballads and Lyrics, She Walks in Beauty, Twenty-Five Years, Cuckoo
Songs, The Sweet Enemy, The Adventures of Alicia, The Wind Among the Trees
and The House in the Forest.
She is buried in London.
