Helen Waddell
1889-1965

Born in Tokyo. She
was a writer best known for Peter Abelard which was translated into many
languages and went into over 30 editions. She wrote many other works
including The Wandering Scholars, Medieval Latin Lyrics, Beasts and
Saints, The Desert Fathers, The Spoilt Buddha and The Abbé Prévost.
She is buried in County Down.
