Archbishop Thomas William Croke 1824-1902 Born Ballyclough, County Cork. First patron of the GAA and Croke Park is named after him. He supported the the Gaelic League, Land League and Parnell which didn’t go down well with the British Goverments of the time. He is buried in Thurles Cathedral, County Tipperary |
