Elizabeth Shaw 1920-1992 Born in Belfast. She wrote and illustrated 23 books for children. She married Rene Graetz, a German painter and sculptor. They moved to Berlin 1n 1946 and she remained there until her death. Her remains were cremated and her ashes were scattered into the Irish Sea. There is a memorial plate placed on the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof in Berlin. Photo by David Neary. |
