Hamilton Harty 1880-1941

Born in Hillsborough, County Down. He conducted the London Symphony Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra, Manchester. He was knighted in 1925. He was also a composer and his works include With the Wild Geese and An Irish Symphony. He won the Royal Philharmonica Society's gold medal in 1934. He is buried in County Down.
