Cardinal John Francis D’Alton 1882-1963 Born in Claremorris County Mayo. Ordained in 1908, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland 1946-1963 and was made a cardinal in 1953. President of Maynooth College 1946-1952. He is buried in the grounds of Armagh Cathedral.
