Joe McDonnell 1951-1981 Born in Belfast. He was twice interned in the early 1970s. He was arrested with Bobby Sands and others and charged in September 1977 with possession of a gun. He was sentenced to 14 years in jail. he embarked on hunger strike on May 9th and died on July 8th 1981. He is buried in Belfast. |
