Born in Limerick. He was 27 years old when he died on a raid on Brookeborough Barracks on 1st January 1957. Killed along with was Fergal O'Hanlon. They both had large funerals and were immortalised in songs Sean South of Garryowen, The Patriot Game. Sean South is buried in Limerick. |
