Sir Norman Stronge 1894-1981

Sir Norman Stronge was a prominent Unionist, a member of the Royal Black Preceptory and the Orange Order. Sir Norman was a former Speaker at the House of Commons in Northern Ireland. His son James was a RUC reservist. On January 21st 1981the Provisional IRA killed Sir Norman Stronge and his son James at their home Tynan Abbey which they then blew up. Sir Norman is buried in Tynan Churchyard.
