Thomas (Buck) Whaley 1766-1800A notorious rake. Died at Knutsford, Cheshire. After his coffin was closed, an Irishman named Robinson danced a jig on it. He is buried in Knutsford Churchyard. A plain stone covers his grave with the following inscription: Underneath is interred the body of Thomas Whaley, Esquire, of the City of Dublin, who died November 2nd 1800. Aged 34 years. |
